I worked as a freelancer on the short film "Bandit," I was responsible for all VFX elements. One of the most challenging tasks was setting a car on fire. This shot required a frame-by-frame corner pin approach for tracking, as the lack of detail in the footage, combined with a foreground character obscuring the scene, made 3D tracks ineffective. The 2D track also failed due to the lack of detail and inability to handle parallax.

Creating the fire itself was a satisfying experience but required significant effort to get the shapes and colors just right. I also had to relight the ground, which was challenging due to the lack of plate detail. Rotoscoping the foreground characters was particularly difficult, as the dark setting and black sky caused their black helmets and clothes to blend together, necessitating a lot of guesswork and meticulous adjustments.

I worked on other shots where I added realistic muzzle flashes and debris hits, enhancing the overall intensity and realism of the action scenes.
