As a VFX artist at Gorilla VFX in Cardiff, I contributed to the BBC series "Casualty," tackling a diverse range of shots that showcased my technical expertise and creative problem-solving skills. My responsibilities included adding realistic blood and gore effects to heighten the drama and intensity of medical emergency scenes. This involved careful attention to detail to ensure the effects were convincing and seamlessly integrated into the live-action footage.
In addition to enhancing the visual impact of key scenes, I also focused on the meticulous task of cleaning up unwanted elements such as boom mics and camera operator reflections. This required precise tracking and compositing skills to remove these distractions and maintain the visual continuity of the series. Each shot presented unique challenges, from ensuring the blood effects matched the lighting and movement of the actors to seamlessly erasing reflections without compromising the quality of the footage.
Working on "Casualty" allowed me to demonstrate my versatility as a VFX artist, handling everything from dramatic visual enhancements to subtle clean-up work.
